Recommendations for a Performance Guideline of Solid Insulated Busbar Systems

A Solid Insulated Busbar (SIB) is a current-carrying device with a rigid conductor covered by solid insulation and a grounded surface. This Technical Brochure provides guidelines on the design, performance testing, manufacture, installation, operation, and maintenance of SIBs and recommendations for the SIB standard framework. Case studies and experiences regarding the application, O&M, and failures are also presented.
